On 6 September 1965, began the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Centred largely around the disputed Kashmir region, this conflict represented a pivotal point in Pakistan’s history. Despite significant challenges, Pakistan’s military demonstrated remarkable courage and strategic skill, particularly during key engagements such as the defence of Lahore. The conflict concluded with a UN-mandated ceasefire and was followed by the Tashkent Agreement in January 1966. Defense Day primarily serves to honour the courage and sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers and military personnel during the 1965 war and other significant conflicts. Nationwide ceremonies highlight the heroism of those who defended the nation’s sovereignty. BFKG has always played a vital role in shaping young minds and teaching them the importance of patriotism and how to love their own country and also that we stand no where without our country, it was celebrated at BFKG with full zest and gusto and a proper introduction of why we celebrate this specific Day was given by our Urdu teacher, the young learners showed their love for the country by singing and performing on the patriotic songs, it was such beautiful assemblies by all the levels, preNsy, Nsy, KGs and Grade 1 learners, the whole school stood in solidarity and paid tribute to the young soldiers of today and to the men who stood strong as men of steel against the enemies to protect the sacred land of Pakistan.
