The students at Beaconhouse Campus, Multan, undertook an essential LAP project and started by conducting in-depth interviews as part of their research for the restoration project of Bohar Gate. They reached out to local historians, residents, and cultural experts to gather insights into the gate’s historical significance and the community’s needs. These interviews provided valuable perspectives on the gate’s cultural value, as well as practical considerations for its restoration.
The students also utilized modern technology by creating a 3D model of Bohar Gate, which they presented to the government as a visual tool for the restoration plan. This model demonstrated the proposed changes, including accessibility features such as ramps and informative signage for visitors with disabilities, ensuring that the site would be accessible to everyone.
Through this project, the students aimed to highlight the importance of restoring historical landmarks in a way that supports inclusivity and community pride. They want to see similar communities restored with a focus on accessibility so that the rich cultural heritage of the area can be enjoyed by all, fostering a sense of connection and identity among future generations. Their vision is to inspire other communities to take similar steps in preserving their heritage while ensuring inclusivity for diverse visitors
