Introduction:
The reception of Early Years students is a momentous occasion that marks the beginning of their educational journey. It is an essential event to provide a platform for parents, teachers and school administration to come together and celebrate the young learners’ entry into the school and create a warm and supportive community. This blog aims to provide a detailed account of the reception and highlight its success.
Forming bond:
The reception ceremony took place in the school premises. It was adorned with colorful decorations, balloons and banners that create a joyful and inviting atmosphere. The event was meticulously planned to ensure that it captures the essence of this special milestone in the children’s lives. The designated school staff representatives welcomed the children and their parents with warm words of encouragement and excitement. This gesture helped to ease any anxiety the children may have, making them feel safe and welcomed in their new school environment.

Activities and Learning Areas:
To engage the children and make the event memorable, interactive activities and learning areas were organized. These activities were the depiction of the teaching methodology that is being practiced in Beaconhouse Cantt Campus. Learning areas focusing on the hands on activities included phonics, learning through play, first hand impression, ELE classroom enhanced learning environment and Arts and craft. Moreover from the lower primary section, subjects like Waqfiat e Aama highlighted our ‘saqafat’, katputli tamasha was a source of amusement, science experiments were conducted by the students themselves, mathematics rising star techniques and English vocabulary and grammatical skills enhancing activities were practiced.
Stage Performances:
To add to the festivities, the reception ceremony featured some captivating stage performances like jolly phonics, sing along and melodious song by the school choir. The Kindergarteners shared their budding experiences on stage. Last but not least our new students were given a welcome token in the form of goody bags. The aim behind all this was to pique the children’s curiosity and create a sense of joy and wonder.
Conclusion:
During the reception ceremony parents were briefed about the school’s rules, routines and academic curriculum. It also provided them with an insight into the school’s educational philosophy and how they can actively support their child’s learning journey. Teachers utilised this time to introduce themselves, shared their aspirations for the children and emphasized their commitment to provide a nurturing educational environment.
The reception overall was a success in creating bond and positive experience for both children and parents alike.
