Art

Art education develops visual perception, practical skills and imagination, in addition to being profoundly connected to the idea of developing individual voice. Moving through the Early Years, students increasingly acquire skills in the areas of line, colour, value, shape and form, texture, and understanding space. The Art Teacher works closely with Homeroom Teachers to connect art projects with themes studied in core academic areas. Techniques employed at Reception included painting, drawing, printmaking, collage and clay-work.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONNECTION

We nurture in our youngest learners a love for nature and respect for the planet. We do so by immersing them in activities, where they discover, learn, play, and explore. Areas like the exploration of Habitats and Life Cycle of Living Things, provided the learners with an exposure to Experiential learning through Hands on activities. All the areas at Reception reflected the Early Years experience at BSS Cantt Campus Multan, with the aim to nurture our students into becoming true Children of the Earth.

Read Aloud Story Time

Story time embeds reading as an important daily practice. Exposure to storybooks at an early age inculcates creativity and critical thinking by exposing children to the wider world, challenging norms, and encouraging them to exercise their imagination. An interactive Storytelling session was conducted at Reception with the focus on reading strategies.

Music

Music covers content and skills in the basic areas of rhythm, melody, instruments, musical content and movement. Children learn to sing, as well as to recognise moods of musical tones. Children were given a chance to exhibit their talent on stage through musical performances.

Language and Literacy

The English and Urdu Language and Literacy programme in Early Years at BSS Cantt Campus, encourages the development of strong literacy skills including reading, writing, speaking and listening. IT integrated and hands-on activities focused on the development of English and Urdu language were conducted at the Reception.

MD

At BSS Cantt Campus, the Early Years Math instruction relies heavily on the use of manipulatives. Rising Star activities were conducted with learners to show that incorporating concrete and virtual manipulatives into mathematics lessons in meaningful ways helps learners grasp concepts with greater ease, making teaching most effective.
