At BSS Cantt Campus, we invite all BSS and NON BSS guests to visit us on our Open Days to get a real-life feel of our school teaching and learning practices.
Choosing the right school for a child is a very individual process. So we are always happy to arrange personal visits either as a follow-up to an Open Event or as a first step for considering our school. Personal visits can be arranged for parents to visit on their own or with children – whichever feels right for them.
Cinematheque, a cinema-themed open day, was organised in the school premises to introduce our community to the teaching and learning opportunities we offer, the facilities we have available and how we prepare our learners for life beyond school.
They observed practical demonstrations of subjects being taught in the school and how they foster abilities in communication, language, literacy, problem-solving, reasoning, and math, as well as knowledge and understanding of the world, physical development, and creative development.
Art
As learners advance through their Early Years, and they become more adept at grasping line, colour, value, shape and form, texture, and space.
Along with being inextricably linked to having a personal voice, art education fosters the development of imagination and visual perception. The art teacher closely collaborates with homeroom teachers to link art projects with topics covered in fundamental academic areas.
Math
Utilizing manipulatives intensively is a crucial component of early math instruction. Rising Star activities with students were conducted to demonstrate how effectively teaching mathematics can be done by mixing hands-on and digital manipulatives into courses. This helps students understand ideas more readily.
Stage performances
At BSS Cantt Campus, we believe that participation in stage performances can help build self-esteem and confidence and motivate students to excel and build social skills. It allows students to learn and adapt to the skill of goal setting & practice.
We, therefore, planned the event with this objective in mind, and we strongly encouraged 100% of Early Years students to participate.
The event kick-started with a spectacular Trollistic performance by Pre Nursery students to welcome the audience.
Nursery students made us proud with their brilliant Madagascar-themed performance.
Our shining Kindergarteners put up a mesmerising performance. They recreated the world of Harry Potter on the stage, which was a delight for the audience to watch.
Pedagogy refers to the theory and practice of education and how it influences the growth of learners, that is, the students. Learning areas such as Enhanced learning environment, IT gadgets (model class), Sing Along, Urdu Kahani goi, and English storytelling were set up to familiarize parents with school pedagogy methods being used by teachers and to show how quickly children can grasp the concepts being taught.
At BSS Cantt Campus, we systematically develop children’s speaking and listening skills through phonics to get them off to a flying start with their literacy. Our experienced faculty member conducted an informative phonics session to familiarise parents with how we get our students attuned to the sounds of letters to develop oral blending and segmenting skills.
