BCP Multan hosted the annual Urdu Day “REKHTA” to honour and celebrate our national language. This day was marked by a series of speeches, poetry, skits and performances by the students who enthusiastically took part and enjoyed the event thoroughly which served the purpose of not only commemorating the national language but also bringing our youth closer to it.

The event took place on the 28th of November. It started off by recitation and translation by Zarwa Nadeem, which was later followed by a beautifully sung hamd and naat by our very talented students. The rest of the ceremony consisted of a brief introduction of Urdu, speech about the pros and cons of social media and technology with students vehemently defending their positions on both, and works of different renowned poets of Urdu language (including Mirza Ghalib, Allama Iqbal, Mir Taqi Mir, and Faiz Ahmed Faiz) were also recounted.

Highlights of the event were song performances prepared by our students including Ibrahim Amir, Aleea Zeeshan and Fahm who serenaded the audience with classical Urdu songs from Pakistan. However, the Mushaira where works and poetry of different legendary poets were passionately delivered by the students stole the show for everyone making it a memorable occasion for everyone!
