On Global Dignity Day, everyone, everywhere is invited to look beyond what divides us and recognize the dignity and humanity we share.
Global Dignity Day is held on the third Wednesday of October, with additional events happening throughout the month of October.
This day aims to “instil a positive, inclusive and interconnected sense of value in young people that will guide them as they grow”
Beaconhouse Early years and Girls Campus, Officers’ Colony Multan has always promoted this day as a training session for the students. Events occur mainly in classrooms, as the day is geared toward all ages. Programs include lectures, special speakers, and open discussions revolving around dignity. Students are encouraged to define the word dignity for themselves. They are also encouraged to write a letter to themselves about their aspirations and goals. These letters are collected and returned to them on the next Global Dignity Day. It’s a way for them to measure how far they have come in one year and what goals they have met.
Like every year, the students kept the janitors and supporting staff on board while celebrating the Dignity Week this year too. Interviewing them, spending time in helping them, arranging buffet to cherish their presence had given them immense pleasure. Little role plays, acts showing diversity and dignity was a cherry on the top.
