Hello Readers!
Today we are going to talk about how we can invest in our relationships. Relationships with our family with our friends are the most meaningful aspects of our life. Let’s understand it with the help of emotional bank account. Never heard of what is it? Let me explain.

You have an emotional bank account with everyone you have a relationship with. This means you have this account with your best friend, family members and even colleagues. The concept of emotional bank account was given by the author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey.

We all know how a regular bank account works. You deposit money, save it and withdraw it when it is needed. Imagine like money, there is an option of placing all your emotions in a bank account and assume everybody around you has this emotional account. The question is what can be done to make deposits in that account? All the actions that makes the other person happy will make a deposit in his or her account.

Try to understand the other person and do things that make them happy or our important to them. Fulfil your commitments and be honest. Celebrate small achievements in your life and celebration doesn’t mean that it has to be grand always. Another important thing is to know what are the withdrawals in this account. Not looking when somebody is talking to you and interrupting others during conversations, criticizing, yelling, screaming, and passing sarcastic comments. Like this all the activities that negatively impact our relationships are withdrawals.

Our close and most precious relationships require continuous deposits means continuous investments. Thinking about others using this metaphorically created bank accounts, you will know which relationship of yours needs more investment.
